Something different

A few months ago I had a strong urge to create something using pencil crayons.
I found myself just going with the flow and getting completely absorbed for hours.
I decorated the borders with silver leaf.

Back again.

I have been gone from this blogland for a good few months for lots of boring reasons.
But I feel ready to have another go, so here is the latest.
I remember writing that I would never ever even think about lino cutting again. But it bugged me and niggled and jeered at me, so I tried again. This time I feel more positive about the results and actually enjoyed the process.

Yes I think I have broken the lino curse.

Had a great time camping in Lingfield.

On Saturday we visited Chartwell house the home of Winston Churchill.
Chartwell has a lovely family feel about it especially the gardens with Marycott the little brick built playhouse built for Winston's daughter.

We met friends at Wakehurst on Sunday for the Wildwood event.
This Green man was a brilliant story teller.

Willow mushrooms - I wouldn't mind some of these for the garden!

Just look at those roots.

What a fantastic event this was - so many talented people working in different ways with wood and all were willing to chat and share their knowledge.

Bank holiday Monday we met friends in Midhurst for breakfast.
I took these photos at the Cowdray ruins.

Please hubby of mine make me some chairs like these.

I've been making lots of wood burnt pieces for a craft fair that's coming up in July.

Wood burning or pyrography is super addictive.
So addictive that I've neglected the glass work that I love so much.

To put that right I have made two of these stained glass hares. I just need to cement them, put a hook on them and then give them a really good polish.

Rooftops of Rye.
We had a lovely weekend in Rye to try out our new campervan.
Rye is a very pretty place to spend some time mooching around and we had beautiful weather.

We also visited Dungeness. We went on a little steam train I was so excited I forgot to take a photo.

I took this photo on a walk in Slindon-a lovely bend in the trunk just right to sit on and swing your legs.

This tiny butterfly had the most delicate black spots I think it is called a small blue.

I finished this owl tealight holder today
and

this is my collection of burnt wood handbag mirrors i'm trying to get things together for a craft fair in Brighton.
